Bill R Jones

Billy Ray Jones of Melissa, TX  passed away on December 12, 2024 at Baylor Scott and White in McKinney, TX. Arrangements are under the direction of Wise Funeral Home in Bonham.

Bill was born on January 6, 1944 in Barksdale Field, Louisiana to Frank and Delores Jones. Bill graduated from McAlester High School and went on to college at Eastern Oklahoma State College, majoring in marketing and business management. Bill was a drill instructor in the United States Army Reserves. He spent his career working as an executive for the Chamber of Commerce in Branson, MO, Dumas, TX, Rosenberg, TX, Bonham, TX and Melissa, TX. In Bill's spare time he enjoyed a good game of golf or gardening. He was an excellent cook and enjoyed making delicious meals for his family. Time spent with family was at the heart of Bill, especially time spent with his grandchildren.

Please join the family of Bill Jones on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Wise Funeral Home from 5pm to 7pm. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Dolores and Frank Jones.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sue Jones of Melissa, TX, daughter, Kelly Presley of McKinney, TX, son, Brandon Jones (Trish) of Hazel Green, AL, brother, Pat Jones of Coldspring, TX, grandchildren, Rylee Presley, Blake Jones, and Beau Jones.
