Bettye Jo Gossett was born on June 24, 1937 in Kanawaha, Texas to James Elmer Posey and Lillian Flora Baughier Posey. She passed away Thursday night, Nov. 27, 2014 at Seven Oaks Nursing & Rehab in Bonham, Texas.
Bettye married Gilbert Gossett on June 2, 1954 in Hondo, Texas. She retired from Vought Air Craft after 33 ½ years of service. She also worked at Texas Instruments for 7 ½ years and had her beauticians license for over 50 years,
The couple moved to Bonham in 2003 and enjoyed gardening, fishing and going to Choctaw. Bettye attended Lamasco Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers and 1 sister.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Gilbert Gossett, one son, Rickey Gossett and wife, Cyndie, 3 grandchildren, Josh and wife, Marisa, Ryan and wife, Amanda and Kali Gossett, 2 great grandsons, Austin and Blake Gossett, 2 great granddaughters, Mia and Sophia and 2 sisters, Melba Jean Funderburk and Dixie Pauline Greene.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014 in Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Craig Vance will officiate. Burial will follow at 4:00 PM in Southland Memorial Park in Grand Prairie, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Gossett, Ryan Gossett, Jim Funderburk and J. B. Bridges.
