Funeral Services for Bertha Ann Hamner, age 96, of Bonham, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Owens Chapel Cemetery. Bertha's Grandson-In-Law, Pastor Dennis Stewart will officiate. Bertha passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016.
Bertha was born December 12, 1919, the daughter John Benjamine Calhoun and Sallie Blandena Elliott Calhoun. Bertha was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church since 1944. She had a giving heart and was instrumental in starting the Manna House Food Pantry where she volunteered for many years. Bertha also worked at the Sam Rayburn Memorial Veterans Center as one of the main cooks for 17 years. Bertha is preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Willard Danner and Oscar Branch Hamner; Brothers, Garner Calhoun, Buck Calhoun, Carlus Calhoun, J. W. Calhoun, R. L. Calhoun, Paul Calhoun, and Delbert Calhoun; Sisters, Willie Mae Payne, Mary Kathryn Smith, and Jennie Smith; Son, Jimmy Leon Danner; Daughter, Barbara Danner Kennedy; and Great Grandchild, Ashley Kennedy.

Bertha is survived by her son, Bobby Dean Danner; daughter, Shirley Ann Danner Miller Washburn; grandchildren, Debra Kennedy Musgrove, Judith Diane Kennedy Workman, Danny Michael Kennedy and his wife Karen, Bobby Eugene Danner and his wife Kimberly, Mary Ann Danner Taylor and her husband Kurt, Jim Ed Danner, Sara Elizabeth Danner Johnson and her husband Ronnie, Tracy Rachelle Miller Stewart and her husband Dennis, and Thomas Ray Miller and his wife Kiley; great grandchildren, Chad Allen Echols and his wife Jeanelle, Craig Lee Musgrove and his wife Rachel, John Daniel Workman, Many Diane Workman, Tyler James Danner, Keegan Thomas Danner, Cassey Ann Taylor, Amber Faye Taylor, Dakota Ashton Taylor, Dalton Paul Johnson, Dayla Ann Johnson, Darcie Shane Johnson, Dawson Quinn Stewart, Darby Brinn Stewart, Kaylin Rhea Miller, Scarlett Grace Miller, Barrett Axel Miller, and Blake Elizabeth Miller; great great grandchildren, Tiago Mateo Echols, Reagan Lynn Musgrove, Kennedy Rea Musgrove, Caleb Lee Musgrove, Nadia Diane Allami, Dreygen Billy Worley, Jeter Zane Worley, Zackary Gage Worley, Makayla Denise Gann, Colby Lee Gann, and Erabella Paige Gann; numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Miller, Bobby Danner, Danny Kennedy, John Workman, Kurt Taylor, and Craig Musgrove.

The family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home on Monday, May 23, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
