Bernice Mcfarlin

Graveside services for Bernice McFarlin, age 86 of Bonham, TX will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 3:00 PM at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman, TX, under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Officiating will be her son-in-law, Bro. Dan Mazy. Interment will follow at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman, TX. Bernice passed away on May 6, 2018. She was born July 2, 1931 in Bonham, Texas to Charles Lee Judge & Lula Kitty Judge.

Bernice married Bobby Eugene McFarlin on February 1, 1947 in Bonham, TX.  She loved anything from the 1940's era. She wrote poetry since her childhood, read the Bible cover to cover multiple times, and lived by its words.  Bernice was an animal lover, especially cats and birds. She would talk to them, as her best friends.  The highlight of her life was the opportunity to make a trip to the Holy Land in the late 60's and walk where Jesus walked.  She loved telling stories and making others laugh.  Her home was her "castle" and she kept it immaculate. She enjoyed keeping in touch with family and friends on the phone.  When anyone offered generosity to her, she showed her appreciation many times over.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Lee Judge & Lula Kitty Judge and her infant brother.

Surviving are her husband of 71 years, Bobby Eugene McFarlin; daughter, Bobette Mazy and husband Dan of Early, TX; two grandchildren, Tony Mazy and wife Robin of North Richland Hills, TX and Brandon Mazy and wife Kathleen of Brownwood, TX; two great-grandchildren, Lindsey Dawn Mazy and Emma Rose Mazy; brother-in-law, Jack McFarlin and wife Juanita of Bonham, TX

Pallbearers will be her grandsons Brandon Mazy, Tony Mazy and her nephews, Larry McFarlin, Randy McFarlin.

An open visitation will be available from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Wise Funeral Home.

A special thank you is being extended by the family to Jack and Juanita McFarlin and Bill and Phyllis Turnage for the loving care they provided have provided to Bernice.
