Memorial Services for Belinda Rae Holland, age 65, of Bonham, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Private Family inurnment will follow at Old Hall Cemetery in Lewisville, Texas at a later date. Belinda passed away Monday afternoon, August 16, 2021, at Texoma Medical Center in Bonham, Texas.
Belinda was born on September 27, 1955, in Lewisville, Texas, the daughter of William Marion Holland and Joy Marie Haynes Holland. She had a patriotic spirit and loved her country so much so, that, with her parents' permission, she joined the United States Army at the age of 16. Belinda earned her GED and became a member of WAC (Women's Army Corps). She served her country during the Vietnam War as a Military Police Officer from 1973 to 1975. After serving in the military, Belinda attended Grayson County College where she majored in Psychology and earned her associate degree. She worked for Anne Richards Democratic Women and even attended the Governor's Ball one year. Belinda helped start the Fannin County Crisis Center and ran it for a number of years. She was a member of the Doll Club, owning 1000 dolls of her own. Belinda and her friend were extreme Elvis fans, so they founded the Elvis Lives Texas Style Fan Club. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Belinda will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by parents and brother, Thomas Matthew Holland.
Belinda leaves to cherish her memory her son, Micheal "Scooter" Edward Holland and wife Jana of Bonham, Texas; grandchildren, Trent Micheal Holland and Hollie Joana Holland; extended family and a host of friends.
