Beatrice Louise Vanhooser

May 24, 1941 — May 8, 2025

Talco

Beatrice Louise VanHooser, lovingly known as Nanny to her friends and family, went to be with the Lord and reunited with Big Pa on May 8, 2025. She was surrounded by her loving family as she took her last breath. Beatrice was born on May 24,1941, in Talco, Texas to Ferris Whitney and Lula Brown Whitney.

Beatrice married Charles Delane VanHooser on November 4,1960 in Paris, Texas. She really enjoyed fishing, camping, watching western movies, and just spending time with loved ones. She was a caring person that was devoted to her family. Nanny loved her grandchildren, she would always take them to get donuts and spoil them at Dollar General with toys and candy. Nanny enjoyed any and all holidays. They were often celebrated at her house with her family. To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was the heart of the family — a storyteller, a comforter, and a protector. She held a special bond with everyone.

Beatrice VanHooser will be remembered for her gentle hands, her fierce love, humor, and her ability to make everyone feel seen and safe. She taught us how to love without conditions, how to stay strong through storms, and how to leave the world softer than we found it.
