Barbara Jane Pierce

Graveside Services for Barbara Jane Pierce, age 79, of Bonham, Texas will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Wilson Chapel  Cemetery in McKinney, Texas under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Pastor Steve Luton and Rev. Wayne French will officiate. Barbara passed away June 6, 2022, at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas.

Barbara was born March 23, 1943, to the daughter of Weller Gwendolyn Smith and Christine Elizabeth Corry Smith in Dallas Texas. She married Elbert Pierce on May 24, 1963, in McKinney, Texas. They were married 37 years prior to his passing. Barbara was a member of Calvary United Pentecostal Church in Bonham, Texas. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and ceramics. Barbara was a computer guru who loved YouTube and social media. She will be greatly missed. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents Mother Christine Elizabeth (Bessy)Loftice; Father: Weller Gwendolyn Smith: Stepdad: Jake Loftice: Husband: Elbert (Short) Pierce; Brother: Glenn Smith; Daughter-in-Law: Gina Darlene Baker Pierce.

Barbara is survived by Sons, Robert Roach of Bonham, Texas and Delbert Ray Pierce of Burleson, Texas; Daughters, Gwinda French and husband Wayne of Pearcy, Arkansas, Irene Grady of Bonham, Texas, Dorothy Gilbert and Husband Jimmy of Bonham, Texas, and Anna Marie Shugart and Husband Brian Shugart of Paris, Texas; Brothers, Herman Smith of San Antonio, Texas and Roy Gwen Smith of Princeton, Texas; sisters, Elizabeth "Bethann" Bolton of Granbury, Texas and Shirley Eastham of McKinney, Texas; 33 grandchildren; 65 great grandchildren; numerous great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home, June 13, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
