Arthur Tobias Chaney

Private Graveside Services for Arthur Tobias, "A.T." Chaney Jr., age 95, of Bonham, Texas were held at Arledge Ridge Cemetery in Bonham, Texas under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Pastor Kevin Lane officiated the service. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. A. T. passed away Saturday, April 11, 2020 at Clyde W. Cosper Texas State Veterans Home in Bonham, Texas.

A. T. was born on November 11, 1924 in Ravenna, Texas, the son of Arthur Tobias Chaney Sr. and Eura Edwina Hardy Chaney. He joined the U. S. Army Air Force during World War II, where he was a B-17 flight engineer. A. T. married Ada Verdell on June 18, 1948 in Bonham, Texas. Together they raised three sons. They were married 70 years before her passing on June 10, 2019. A. T. was a member of the Bois d' Arc Creek Cowboy Church in Bonham, Texas. He worked in carpentry his whole life, even in his 90s A. T. continued to practice his carpentry skills. A. T. was a football fanatic, he loved the Bonham Warriors and the Dallas Cowboys. His favorite pastime was gardening. Most of all, A. T. loved his family. He will be greatly missed. A. T. is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his daughter-in-law, Marilyn Chaney.

Fond memories of A. T. will forever be remembered and cherished by his surviving family members ; sons, Arthur Dean Chaney, Robert Chaney and wife Reba Dawson, and Jerry Don Chaney, all of Bonham, Texas; grandchildren, Brandon Chaney and wife Lacey, Cole Chaney and wife Holly, David Flippo, Kristie Hughes, Beth Benkamila, Jessica Flippo, Josh Williams, Ashley Bellew, Brittany Ballard, and Nathan Dawson; several great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.
