Andrew Charles "Andy" Onifer

Graveside services with military honors for Andrew Charles "Andy" Onifer, 87, of Bonham, will be held at 9:30 AM Friday, June 16, 2017 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Texas under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Andy passed away early Tuesday morning, June 13, 2017 at Seven Oaks Nursing and Rehab in Bonham.

Andy was born Nov. 28, 1929 in Thompson, Pennsylvania, the son of Joseph Onifer and Juliia Filton Onifer. He was one of 14 children, and 7 brothers and 6 sisters have preceded him in death. Andy was a US Army veteran serving from 1946 to 1949 and 1956 to 1957. He was a coal miner for many years and a big Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Andy was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Andy is survived by several family members, including nieces, Julie Johnson of Shreveport, LA and Denise Kohan of Allison, PA, and other nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his Seven Oaks friends (family).

The family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home from 6:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday night.
