Alex Vaught, age 60, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Wilson N. Jones Hospital in Sherman.
A family directed Irish Wake celebrating his life will be held in his Honor in the near future.
Alex was born on February 3, 1960 to Judson Mahlon Vaught and Marie Violet (Thrash) Vaught, in Tyler, Texas where he spent the first 12 years of his life. In 1972, the family moved to the Dallas area. In 1990 he married the love of his life, Becky English. They remained in the Dallas area until 2011 when they found their country dream home and farm in the Bonham area. Right away, they began living the "good life", raising chickens, growing blackberries, vegetables and planting more and more fruit trees and improving the pecan orchard that was already there. Over the years, many folks have been blessed with Becky and Alex's organic eggs, watermelons, cantaloupes, pears, peaches, plums, tomatoes, squash, cucumbers and special sugarless jams.
Alex loved music and movies. In his spare time, he wrote stories and lyrics for songs. He was working on a novel at the time of his death. He was a kind and generous man and he will be missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Mark Vaught and his dog Noodle.
He is survived by his wife Becky English, his step daughter, Heather Boyd Leonard, his brother William Vaught and his beloved dogs, Max, Daisy, Marley, Chuck, and Angel.
