Graveside services for Judge Alan Hale, age 72 of Leonard, TX will be held on Monday, August 28, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Willow Wild Cemetery, under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Officiating will be Kevin Lane. Judge Hale passed away on August 25, 2017 at his residence in Leonard, surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Judge Hale was born on August 29, 1944 in DeKalb, Illinois to Albert Leland Hale and Mildred Louise Kemp Hale. He enjoyed woodworking and making flag cases for veterans in the community and numerous woodworking items that he donated to service organizations such as Justice is Served (Fannin County Children's Center) and the Fannin County Crisis Center. Judge Hale enjoyed being on many county boards and civic groups throughout his career. He served in the US Navy and was a member of the Bois D'Arc Creek Cowboy Church in Fannin County.

He was the Fannin County Justice of the Peace for Precinct 2 for 13 years and was well thought of in the community to which he served thoughtfully and diligently.

Judge Hale was preceded in death by his, and Parents: Albert Leland Hale & Mildred Louise Hale, and wife Penny Cozette Hale in 2001.

Surviving are his daughters, Rosa D'Ann Hale of Leonard
Robyn Jones and (Robert) of Missouri
Verna Michelle Johnson and (Terry) of Ector
Casey Lynn Underwood and (Keith) of Denison; grandchildren, Ashley Wagoner and husband Mitchell, Amanda Sanford and husband Chase, Amber Christofferson,
Heather Johnson, Shelby Bunch, Deryk Bunch, Nathan Johnson, Cozelynn Johnson; great-grandchildren, Jackson Wagoner and Gibson Sanford; sisters, Pat Cooper of Republic, Missouri. Extended family and a host of friends that he considered family and was close to many through the years.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Nathan Johnson, Deryk Bunch, Kenneth Moore, Royce Smithey, Kenny Karl, Chris Kitts, Shawn Smith, Chase Sanford, Mitchel Wagoner, Bobby Brownfield, Daryl Landrum, Jimmy Helms and Bob Clemmons.
