Funeral services for A. D. Brawner, 85, of Telephone, Texas will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 12, 2016 in Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Mike Dickison will officiate. Burial will follow in Elwood Cemetery. A. D. passed away Monday night, May 9, 2016 at Clyde W. Cosper Texas State Veterans Home in Bonham.

A. D. was born Dec. 6, 1930 in Caney, Oklahoma, the son of Samuel George Brawner and Myrtle Dale Simpson Brawner. He attended schools in Caney, Oklahoma and was a U. S. Marine Corp veteran. A. D. married Fern Baker on Oct. 29, 1955 in Durant, Oklahoma. He was a road construction foreman, peanut farmer and cattle rancher in Fannin County for many years. A. D. was a member of Ivanhoe Church of Christ. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and sight-seeing and playing dominos with Kim, Evelyn, Lorell and Fern. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. A. D. was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Harrold Brawner, Lesley Brawner, Elton Brawner and K.L. Brawner and a nephew, Gary Brawner.

A. D. is survived by his Wife, Fern Brawner of Telephone, Texas;
Son, Tony Brawner and wife, Lee Etta of Ivanhoe, Texas; two Daughters, Rhonda Lyles and husband, Rusty of Ivanhoe, Texas and
Laura "Denise" Newland and husband, Jay of Anna, Texas; two Sisters, Jewell Hayes of Paris, Texas and Earlene Carroll and husband, Jerry of Midlothian, Texas; Grandchildren, Brandon Lyles, Brittney & Charlie Tully, Cole Brawner, Daniel Brawner, Greg Alan Newland, and Jodee Newland; two Great Grandchildren, Taylee Tully and Tierney Tully; and Numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Cole Brawner, Daniel Brawner, Barry Don Brawner, Darrin Brawner, Greg Alan Newland and Charlie Tully. Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Lyles, Terry Carlisle, Craig Carlile, Lesley Brawner, Carl Adams, Danney Johnson, Kim (Walden) Molina, Ray McCulloch and Bobby Blankenship.
